Rainbow Riders
Credit must go to Bob Wieters for his hard work and dedication to forming the Rainbow Riders. After many hours on the telephone and computer he was able to get enough rigs together to form a Chapter under the Good Sam Club. He called a meeting and campout at the Grand Casino Avoylles RV Resort in Marksville, Louisiana in August 1998, where the actually formulation took place.
After a bad experience with our first elected President, Bob volunteered to serve the first year as President during which time he was also Editor of the News and Views for the Louisiana Good Sams. He was the instrument by which we continued to survive during that first year.
Very few people come to the front and become the leader that Bob Wieters has for the Rainbow Riders.
He has been the leader of a project to collect tabs from drink cans to be presented to Louisiana State Good Sam Organization for aid of transporting youngsters to the Shiners Burn Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and Houston, Texas..
